While spending two weeks in Guanajuato, studying Spanish at the amazing Escuela Mexicana, I decided to take a Saturday day trip to the magical town of San Miguel de Allende - one of Mexico’s most beautiful and beloved colonial cities. Known for its artistic spirit, colorful streets, and baroque architecture. The town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site filled with history and heart.
Armed with a fantastic guidebook, I explored the cobblestone streets and learned about the city's rich history and architecture.
The breathtaking Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel, with its pink neo-Gothic towers, dominates the main square and completely blew me away. I also visited the bright yellow post office (Correo), the richly decorated and elegant Templo de San Francisco with its stunning churrigueresque façade, and the serene and beautiful Templo de la Concepción near the cultural center Bellas Artes. Every corner of this UNESCO-listed city radiates charm and beauty.
