I’m spending two weeks in Guanajuato, Mexico, studying Spanish at the fantastic Escuela Mexicana — a school full of charm, great teachers, and even rooftop study spots with views of the city. After morning classes, I love going out to explore.
Today I really dove deep into the city. I revisited the Universidad de Guanajuato, a stunning white stone building with grand stairs and elegant architecture — truly one of the city's landmarks. I stepped into a large church filled with quiet beauty, wandered a bit outside the center and found a sports hall, and then stumbled upon something unexpected: a kind of open gorge, where one of Guanajuato’s old tunnels has been exposed. One side of it has risen into a tall wall with ancient house facades built into it — eerie, beautiful, and completely unique.
