After two unforgettable weeks studying Spanish at Escuela Mexicana in Guanajuato, it’s time to move on! I take the Primera Plus bus to Guadalajara, Mexico’s 8th largest city, and check in at Hotel Emperador before heading out to explore.
My first stop is the breathtaking Templo Expiatorio del Santísimo Sacramento, where I experience a quinceañera celebration in progress. From there, I wander through the city streets, discovering vibrant markets and arriving at the main square, home to architectural gems like the Government Palace (Palacio de Gobierno), the Guadalajara Cathedral, the Municipal Palace, and the stunning Teatro Degollado.
As night falls, the city transforms. I witness an incredible light festival and a live orchestra performance with the Cathedral as the backdrop — a truly magical way to end the day.
